| Leadership resolutions - Next steps Updated - 23 September 2006 Delegates still have opportunities to press the case for debate at Conference on this issue and any other about which they consider debate is being stifled: 1. Constituencies that tabled Leadership resolutions can lobby the CAC today (Saturday 23 September between 1.30 and 4.00 pm), contact the following delegates: Ben Soffa (Lancaster and Fleetwood CLP) on 07941 203 894 Jenny Lennox (Manchester Central CLP) on 07734 845 307 Geoff Lumley (Isle of Wight CLP) on 07870 247 905 2. All CLP delegates concerned about Leadership in particular can vote for it, if the appeals are successful, in the Priorities Ballot on Sunday usually between 1.30 and 4.00 pm 3. If the CAC refuses to reconsider its ruling(s) on Leadership, all CLP delegates can demonstrate their concern by 'writing in' Leadership on the Priorities Ballot paper 4. If the CAC/NEC still fail to get the message, all CLP delegates can demonstrate their concern by getting to Conference before the start of each day's business ready to challenge the daily CAC Report to Conference, by calling for and voting for 'Reference Back'. Campaigns by Save the Labour Party and the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy to get the issue of the future leadership of the Labour Party debated at the 2006 Conference have been ruled out of order apparently as 'unconstitutional' by the Conference Arrangements Committee and referred in at least some cases to the National Executive Committee. Click here for a copy. Contemporary motions about the Leadership were submitted to the Conference Arrangements Committee ahead of the deadline at 1000 today Friday 15 September. The StLP Contemporary Resolution has been submitted by Lancaster and Fleetwood CLP. It is intended to show how individual members of the Labour Party have it within their power to help decide the timing of the next Labour leadership election. for .pdf version click here for Word version click here In addition, Isle of Wight, Luton South, Manchester Central, Nottingham South and Stoke-on-Trent Central have also submitted Leadership resolutions based on long and short Models circulated by the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy. Support for debate is also massing. This is vital for the Priorities Ballot on Sunday 24 September. The next hurdle is the Conference Arrangements Committee. Will it rule them in order or not? StLP expects to be able to publish the results overnight Tuesday/Wednesday 19/20 September. CLPs have scope to table Emergency Resolutions before noon on Friday 22 September in a further effort to ensure debate on this vital issue.
