| Save the Labour Party |
| National Committee - 2005 Candidate Election statement Susan Press A Labour activist since 1975, I am a parish councillor and NUJ member. Since being elected to the STLP committee I have helped co-ordinate media campaigns and coverage of our activities. I participated in the Peter Hain seminar, Compass seminar with Michael Meacher and STLP fringe meetings in Liverpool and Manchester. I was a visitor to Party Conference and our Umbrella reception - a great success. 12 months ago, I thought a change of leader had to happen before the General Election to properly restore faith in the party. Still true. But despite Blair, The "Big Four" unions have forged the Warwick agreement, left voices are making their voices heard within the party, and STLP is now working with other allies on the centre-left to help restore democracy and core values. That strategy must continue. |
